PEOPLE LOVE THE OLDER PIANOS, AND FOR A GOOD REASON.
1900-1925 what was the Golden Age of piano building, when hundreds of piano companies were providing instruments of craftsmanship and artistry.
READ ON, OR CHOOSE A PIANO TO RESTORE
Often people would love to have one of these instruments and many are sold for cheap or even given away for free on KSL or Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace…
The problem is that the wrong piano can become a money pit, and a very heavy one at that, only to be listed again to be picked up by the next person.
The truth is that there are some real gems made in this 1900-1925 timeframe, and not just big names like Steinway, Mason & Hamlin, or Bösendorfer.
With thorough assessment of each piano I obtain for restoration, I am looking for potential in resonance, beauty, touch/function and longevity. I choose pianos that are standing the test of time and continue to show stability. Although any piano can be restored, some are more worth the effort.
Restoration is often extensive and can take months. The results are transformational and magnificent.
